--> MY EXPERIENCE IN ENGLISH COURSE

The English is a language originating of northwestern Europe, belongs to the Germanic branch of Indo-European languages and was developed in England.

Today the English language is one of the most important in the world.
English is the language used in most countries of the world and has become in the universal language to communicate with people of other countries.
This language is not only part of the business and international trade, but rather the "bridge" to improve our job prospects and an added bonus to our curriculum

Fortunately in our University, they realized of this situation and created a English program to the students.

I think that is fundamental to develop me how health professional, because is completely important can communicated with the patient for example. Also is necessary to study, because a considerable number of books and papers are in this language.

To me the English course was a good experience to learn and to remember the English learned in the school.

In the English classes, the teacher made various activities to promote the learning.
For me the Blogs activities were the best, because the blogs activities were a good resort to develop the English language and to familiarize with the idiom. And these serve to talk, hear and principally write and read in English

Also in the english course, I could learn new vocabulary, overcoat related with the medical area, and that is very beneficial for we in the future, to read and interact with other persons, either a colleague or patient
When the course began the activities were very difficult for me, and did not understand the form to realize some activities, but with the course of time, the development of activities returned easier and understandable

In general the course was developed efficiently, however with some problems to me, and the most considerable, was the time. Is the mixing of different factor, how the hourly of the classes (in the afternoon) and the distance between the faculties. but, as a final evaluation and in spite of all, I think it was important to take this course and it was worth the effort if considering the future benefits

Today I will tell you about an famous and touching film, her name is: The Lyon King.

This is a children’s movie, that was created in 1994 by Walt Disney Pictures, it is the 32nd film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics.

The Lion King is the story of a lion cub's journey to adulthood: Simba, then by begins life as an honored prince, son of the powerful King . The cub's happy childhood, turns tragic when his evil uncle Scar murders Mufasa and drives Simba away from the kingdom. In his journey, the young lion befriends of Pumbaa the warthog and Timon, a meerkat, and lives a carefree jungle life. When is an adulthood, he is visited by the spirit of his father, who instructs him to defeat the Scar and reclaim his rightful throne.

I like this movie because when I was a child, I saw the film almost all days; bring me back a souvenir from my childhood. besides is a very nice story and the movie have very funny songs, that to this day are remembered.

--> THE HUMAN BRAIN

Personally, I think the doctor Pedro Maldonado´s presentation was very interesting. I could learn much about the brain, solve doubt and was really surprising when the doctor clarified myths about the human brain.

Was really interesting when the doctor showed photograph of different brains of animals and compare this with the human brain, the structure of central nervous system is very similar, but the difference stems in the size.

Too I could know, that the brain is always in activity, and exist an specific position in the cerebral cortex related with a specific function, for example: when a person is looking, use back part of brain; when is thinking, used the front part. But if some area of cerebral cortex, isn’t use to predetermined function, for example in the case of blind, the area that normally used for the vision, is used to realize other function: that is, the brain is a plastic organ.

Other myth very popular is that the brain is like a computer. It’s impossible! The human brain have an incredible capacity and is incomparable with a simple machine.

Before of the exposition of Dr Maldonado, I thought that the brain was resting completely, when the persons were sleep; but it is not. Even when the persons is dreaming, the electrical activity is equal that when is awake

Of my point of view, this topic is very important and interesting, and is fundamental that all professional of health know this and even any person, to get oneself some culture and learn that our brain is wonderful.

--> ALCOHOL CONSUMERS AND CHILDRENS

In a website, I can read a very interesting and present article in relation to drinking parents and the damage to their children. This article attracted my attention because I think that this is a very common problem in the world included our country, and can cause future drinking children or drugs consumers, interfamilial violence, and psychological consequence for their children; and all this is directly related with the physical and psychological health of society

Approximately 2.6m children in the UK live in a house where at least one parent's drinking. This is a risk factor of neglect or some consequence previously mentioned

Is estimated that 100 children, some aged just five years; have called to Childline every week with concerns about a parent's alcohol drug abuse.

Something that worry to Sr. Shenker, Alcohol Concern's chief executive, is that although the problem is big and really worrying, nobody realize some action to resolve the problem.

In the article is state that: "A government inquiry must look at all aspects of parental alcohol misuse so that we can improve outcomes for these children."

In fact, Anne Milton, thinks that is necessary identifies early on children and families that need support in related to alcohol consumption. She will help launch the report today at the House of Lords with the children’s minister, the Sr. Tim Loughton

Although heavy alcohol consumption in parents is a risk factor for their children, also are drugs, experiences of domestic violence and mental ill-health; said Dr Sarah Galvani, chair of the British Association of Social Workers special interest group in alcohol and other drugs

Bob Reitemeier, chief executive of the Children's Society, said that: "We make a calling to the government to make sure that everyone who needs either training or education to deal with parental substance abuse is given the appropriate assistance."

Hi newly! Today I will tell you something about a book. I read this book in the summer of 2007, in this moment I was in the beach, in the north of Chile. I liked this book because is different from all that I read previously. The book was from a friend, and one of this days of holidays I started read the book and since this moment I couldn`t stop read; this was strange for me because I never read books and less in summer.
The history told in the book is very passionate; this was the principal reason to read. Also talking about the food, all topics were deal of this point of view. Is the history in related a girl, the youngest of three daughters; she spends most of her time growing up in the kitchen with the cook of her house. When the girl grows, she was in love and this provokes a big problem with her mother and sisters.
The girl protagonist expresses all her feelings through the food and thus transmit these emotions to rest of people, is an incredible history!
This book was writing for Laura Esquivel, in 1989. After in 1992, a movie was filmed with the same name. I wasn´t see the movie, but I think the most important is read the book, because gives you the possibility of imagine the story, characters, feelings…
I recommend this book to all persons who like to imagine and passionate stories, you will not regret, I’m secure
